Ian Franks

This work is a love letter to my partner, Isaac and the largest and most ambitious piece I have ever worked on. The piece is not meant to exist as a static portrait, but instead as an explosion of life where every corner is consumed by hidden secrets and intriguing moments. My goal is always to create something that can't just be walked past, but demands its time with its spectators.

Ian is a self trained painter from New York who moved to Canada in 2018 with his partner. Working primarily in portraiture in either acrylic or watercolor has been a lifelong passion and something that has been a constant source of exploration and growth.
